The closing ceremony of the Women’s Futsal League for the 2023/2024 season was held with great enthusiasm, celebrating the remarkable achievements of the players and teams. The event saw the distribution of medals, awards, and cups, overseen by key figures in Iraqi football, including the President of the Iraqi Football Association, Adnan Darjal, Executive Office member Yahya Zaghir, Women’s Committee Supervisor Dr. Rasha Talib, and President of Al-Zawraa Sports Club, Falah Hassan.
Al-Zawraa Club emerged as the league champions, showcasing their dominance throughout the season. Maysan Oil secured second place, while Alton Kopri Club took third, all demonstrating exceptional sportsmanship and skill.
Individual players were also recognised for their outstanding performances. Dereen Mahmoud was named the best player of the season, Faiza Jalal received the best goalkeeper award, and Sahar Faisal was honoured as the best promising player. Zainab Abbas, with an impressive 25 goals, was crowned the league’s top scorer. Al-Zawraa’s coach, Samer Saad, was selected as the best coach, highlighting his leadership in guiding the team to victory.
The Bint Iraq Academy earned the title of the best ideal team, reflecting the positive spirit and dedication that marked this year’s competition. The ceremony was a fitting end to a thrilling season of women’s futsal in Iraq.
