Andrei Stenin Competition Invites Young Talent Worldwide

Moscow has officially opened submissions for the 11th International Young Photojournalist Competition, held in memory of Russian photojournalist Andrei Stenin. The announcement, made on Stenin’s birthday, 22 December, continues a tradition that honours his legacy. Stenin, a photojournalist for the Rossiya Segodnya media group, tragically lost his life in 2014 near Donetsk.

The competition’s supervisor, Oksana Oleinik, expressed enthusiasm for this year’s entries, stating:
“We are pleased to announce the start of the Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Competition for the 11th time. As in previous years, we expect a large number of interesting works by young photojournalists. Despite the challenges of today’s world, the competition continues to attract photographers from across the globe, demonstrating the resilience and unity of the international photography community.”

The contest focuses on themes that resonate with human experiences and societal challenges. Oleinik highlighted the importance of young photographers capturing stories of hope and resilience, adding:
“Participants find themes of good and humanity amidst a world of hardships, making these accessible to a diverse audience. Our travelling exhibitions showcase the winners’ works in numerous countries, promoting the unifying role of photography.”
