The Minister of Health, Dr. Saleh Mahdi Al-Hasnawi, chaired a key meeting to coordinate preparations for the upcoming 61st session of the Council of Arab Health Ministers, set to take place in Iraq in December 2024. The meeting gathered the Chairman of the Preparatory Ministerial Committee and representatives from various Ministry departments to discuss critical aspects of the event’s planning.
Dr. Al-Hasnawi emphasized the conference’s importance in strengthening Arab collaboration to address shared political, economic, and health challenges facing the region. The session will bring together health ministers and officials from across the Arab world, providing a platform to share knowledge and strategies for advancing regional health standards.
Discussions focused on logistical, media, and ceremonial arrangements, with plans to work closely with the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers to facilitate the arrival of Arab ministerial delegations. Additionally, the program will highlight significant advancements in Iraq’s healthcare sector, including pharmaceutical industry developments and improvements in health services. The event will also allow Iraq to learn from the health innovations and policies of fellow Arab nations, enhancing Iraq’s role in regional health cooperation as it hosts this prominent gathering in Baghdad.
