Baghdad Remains Capital of Culture, Says Minister at Book Fair

During her visit to the Iraq International Book Fair 2024, held at the exhibition grounds in Baghdad, the Minister of Migration and Displacement, Ms. Evan Faeq Jabro, expressed her appreciation for the impressive efforts in organising the event. Accompanied by a number of directors general from the Ministry of Migration and Displacement, the Minister toured the exhibition and praised the event’s role in promoting cultural activities within Iraq.

Ms. Jabro highlighted that such cultural initiatives reflect the deep-rooted interest in the nation’s literary and artistic heritage. She affirmed that Baghdad will continue to hold its position as the capital of culture and arts in the Arab world for years to come.

The exhibition, which offers an extensive collection of books for sale, also features a range of dialogue sessions and cultural activities. These additional elements strengthen its status as one of the most significant cultural events in Iraq, contributing to the city’s vibrant cultural scene.
