The Iraqi Ministry of Transportation has inaugurated its first electronic bus shelter, reflecting its efforts in modernising the city. This initiative marks the beginning of a larger project, which will see the installation of 24 advanced shelters across the city, reflecting Baghdad’s ongoing infrastructure development.
These newly introduced shelters are designed with modern features to cater to the city’s climatic challenges. Equipped with thermal insulation and air conditioning, they offer relief from Iraq’s extreme weather, whether in the intense heat of summer or the cold of winter. The design also enhances the aesthetic appeal of the city by incorporating modern advertising spaces, providing opportunities for local businesses to promote their products while adding a contemporary touch to the urban landscape.
This project is part of the Ministry’s broader efforts to elevate public transport services, creating a safer and more comfortable waiting environment for passengers. It represents a commitment to improving the quality of life for Baghdad’s residents and offering a modern public transport experience that aligns with global standards. The shelters not only provide comfort but also contribute to the economic growth of the city by generating advertising revenue and attracting commercial interest.
Inaugurating the first electronic bus shelter signals a significant step forward in Baghdad’s infrastructure development, combining functionality, comfort, and economic potential.
