Boosting Iraq’s Local Industries and Private Sector Growth

In a move underscoring his commitment to fostering national industries and the private sector, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani visited the Solitaire Dairy and Juice Factory on Wednesday. The visit, timed to coincide with the start of the new year, reflects the government’s dedication to promoting and developing local industries.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s media office, Al-Sudani took the opportunity to extend his congratulations to the factory workers, commending their efforts in bolstering national production. He emphasised their pivotal role in driving Iraq’s industrial growth and reducing dependence on imports.

The visit aligns with the Iraqi government’s broader strategy to support the local economy and attract investment into the industrial sector. Initiatives like this aim to create job opportunities, enhance self-reliance, and stimulate sustainable development across the country.

By highlighting projects like the Solitaire factory, the government is showcasing its prioritisation of initiatives that contribute to economic diversification and resilience. This effort also signals a strong push to encourage private sector participation in Iraq’s economic revitalisation journey.

The visit was warmly received by workers and management alike, marking a positive start to the year and reinforcing the government’s message of solidarity with Iraq’s industrious workforce.
