Iraq’s Minister of Health, Dr. Saleh Mahdi Al-Hasnawi, conducted a field trial operation at Al-Shaab General Hospital to assess the functionality of its systems and readiness across all departments. Accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Health, Baghdad Governorate, and representatives of the implementing company, the Minister ensured that the hospital meets the highest operational standards ahead of its formal opening.
During the visit, Dr. Al-Hasnawi engaged with medical and nursing staff, emphasising the importance of adhering to international standards and prioritising patient care. He reiterated that excellence in service delivery is the cornerstone of the hospital’s operations.
As part of the field trial, the Minister toured various hospital departments, overseeing the activation of medical systems and devices, interacting with patients, and reviewing the final preparations for the facility’s launch.
Highlighting the hospital’s significance, Dr. Al-Hasnawi stated, “This hospital represents a qualitative leap in Iraq’s healthcare infrastructure, offering exceptional medical and health services to the residents of Al-Shaab and neighbouring areas.”
With a bed capacity of approximately 250, including 200 inpatient beds, a state-of-the-art intensive care unit, and a large emergency ward, Al-Shaab Hospital is equipped to handle a diverse range of medical needs. The facility also has eight operating rooms, delivery suites, specialised centres, and consultation services, all supported by cutting-edge medical technology.
