On November 10, 2024, the Oil Projects Company officially laid the foundation stone for the Wasit Oil Authority Buildings Project, a significant step towards enhancing the administrative and organizational capacity of the Central Oil Company. The ceremony was attended by key figures, including Engineer Ali Ward Hamoud, Director General of the Oil Projects Company, and Engineer Muhammad Yassin, Director General of the Central Oil Company.
The project, initiated under the directives of the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Mr. Hayan Abdul Ghani Al-Sawad, aims to improve the infrastructure of Iraq’s oil sector, contributing to the development of functional work and supporting the overall oil industry. The construction will take place over 6 dunums of land and includes a three-floor building, covering an area of approximately 1,100 square meters. Additionally, the project will feature a shelter, inquiry building, parking lot, gardens, and a concrete fence surrounding the area.
Eng. Ali Ward Hamoud highlighted that the project is in line with the Ministry of Oil’s vision to enhance organizational performance, which will reflect positively on the Central Oil Company’s operations. The project is expected to support not only the Central Oil Company but also contribute to improving the broader oil sector in Iraq.
Eng. Muhammad Yassin expressed his satisfaction with the groundbreaking ceremony, noting that this long-awaited project has been the result of years of effort. He also emphasized the importance of timely completion and continuous cooperation between the Oil Projects Company and Central Oil.
This project represents a critical milestone in Iraq’s oil sector, marking a new era of development and operational efficiency.
