Gas Investment Projects Drive Iraq’s Industrial and Economic Growth

Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Mr. Hayan Abdul-Ghani Al-Sawad, underscored Iraq’s commitment to optimising gas investment to bolster energy, economic, and industrial progress. His remarks came during a visit to the gas isolation station in the Artawi field, located in Basra Governorate, on Monday, 16 December 2024.

During the visit, Mr. Abdul-Ghani chaired a meeting to assess the progress of the integrated gas development project in Basra, as well as other initiatives undertaken in collaboration with the French energy company Total. The discussions focused on reviewing the mechanisms for enhancing operations at the Artawi station and ensuring the timely execution of strategic gas projects.

Highlighting the pivotal role of these investments, the Minister emphasised that gas development projects are critical to achieving industrial advancement, supporting the national economy, and ensuring sustainable energy solutions for Iraq.

The visit shows the Ministry of Oil’s strategic vision to harness Iraq’s gas resources effectively, contributing to long-term economic stability and growth.
