Government Buildings to Harness Solar Power for Efficiency

The Ministry of Electricity has unveiled a new initiative to utilise the rooftops of government buildings for the installation of solar energy systems. As part of this plan, around 546 buildings have been identified for solar panel installation, marking a significant step in the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to expand the use of renewable energy sources and reduce dependency on conventional energy.

This initiative forms a key element of a broader strategy aimed at improving energy efficiency and promoting environmental sustainability. By harnessing solar power, the project is expected to generate substantial energy savings and lower operational costs for government institutions. In addition, the initiative aligns with national goals to reduce carbon emissions and transition towards cleaner energy solutions. The Ministry’s efforts reflect a long-term vision for a more sustainable energy infrastructure that can meet the demands of future generations while protecting the environment.
