Nestled within the historic shrine of Imam Abu Hanifa in Al-Adhamiya, Baghdad, the Imam Al-A’zam Museum offers visitors a deeper look at centuries of Islamic history.
Officially opened in 2023, the museum is part of a broader initiative led by the Sunni Endowment Office, to revive and celebrate the legacy of Imam Abu Hanifa- the renowned scholar and theologian.
More than just a collection of artefacts, the museum builds a cultural bridge between past and present, with rare religious manuscripts, handwritten Qurans and Imam Abu Hanifa’s personally attributed items.
Each exhibit is carefully selected to reflect the depth of Islamic intellectual life through the ages.
Visitors to the museum are invited to explore not only objects of historical value but also the story of a city that was once a thriving center of learning in the Islamic world. Baghdad’s golden age of science, law, and theology comes to life in these halls.
Open from 10 AM to 2 PM daily, the museum regularly attracts a steady stream of local and international visitors.
Imam Al-A’zam Museum stands as a quiet yet powerful reminder of Baghdad’s role as a cradle of knowledge, cultural heritage and faith.
