The Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr. Ihsan Alawi Al-Dulaimi, held a significant meeting with the President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, at the Authority’s headquarters. The discussions focused on reinforcing the deep-rooted fraternal and historical relations between Iraq and Bahrain and emphasised the need to enhance cultural cooperation to foster a rich and dynamic cultural exchange between the two nations.
Dr. Alawi highlighted the importance of this meeting as a pivotal step in broadening the scope of joint cultural collaboration. He reaffirmed Iraq’s commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening cultural ties and advancing the cultural movement in a manner that benefits the people of both countries.
Shaikh Khalifa highlighted the value of Iraq’s active participation in Bahrain’s cultural events and festivals, proposing the inclusion of Iraqi heritage musical bands in the Kingdom’s cultural calendar. He expressed confidence that such initiatives would add vibrancy to the cultural evenings hosted in Bahrain throughout the year.
The meeting concluded with both parties agreeing to activate a range of cultural activities, with a particular focus on showcasing the antiquities and popular heritage of Iraq and Bahrain. This collaboration aims to highlight the historical and cultural bonds that unite the two nations, reflecting their shared heritage and mutual respect.
