Iraq and Germany Explore Long-Term Partnership and Security

Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, received Ms. Christiane Homann, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Iraq, on Monday to discuss pressing security developments in the region.

During the meeting, Al-Mandalawi pointed out that one of the key factors contributing to conflicts is the silence of many major countries and their lack of action as these situations continue to worsen. He stressed that this complacency could have far-reaching implications for the security of the region and the world as a whole.

The discussion also covered the bilateral relations between Iraq and Germany, highlighting various fields of cooperation. Both sides agreed on the importance of building a long-term partnership based on mutual interests, with a focus on fostering collaboration at different levels.

The meeting emphasised Iraq’s commitment to addressing regional security issues and enhancing diplomatic ties with Germany, aiming to promote stability and peace in a turbulent geopolitical landscape.
