The Department of Popular Medical Clinics, in coordination with the Pharmacy and Warehouses Department, has commenced the distribution of chronic and general disease medications to its clinics across Baghdad and other governorates. The supply process, covering March and April 2025, began on Tuesday, 11 March 2025, and will continue until 26 March 2025.
This initiative ensures the availability of essential medications in popular and consulting medical clinics, health insurance clinics, and prison healthcare facilities. To maintain an organised distribution process, a detailed schedule has been prepared, specifying the collection dates for each clinic in Baghdad and other provinces. This structured approach aims to prevent congestion, avoid disruptions, and enhance efficiency in the supply chain.
To streamline access, medication distribution will be managed through a drug card system, which records the type and quantity of medication allocated to each patient. The allocation schedule has been prominently displayed above clinic pharmacies to ensure transparency and fair distribution for all patients.
This step underscores Iraq’s commitment to improving healthcare accessibility and ensuring uninterrupted medical support for citizens relying on public health services.
