The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Rome, represented by H.E. Ambassador Dr. Siwan Barzani, actively participated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Italy, on the 13th of December. The MoU was inked between the Iraqi Federation of Chambers of Commerce, led by Dr. Abdul Razzaq Al-Zuhairi, and the Italian Union of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Handcrafts and Agriculture, represented by Mr. Andrea Preti.
The agreement aims to enhance bilateral trade activities, promote investment opportunities, and support business initiatives that align with Iraq’s strategy to attract international partnerships. By improving cooperation frameworks, the MoU is expected to pave the way for Iraqi and Italian businesses to collaborate across various sectors, including industry, agriculture, and technology.
Ambassador Dr. Siwan Barzani emphasised the importance of this partnership, stating that it reflects Iraq’s vision to diversify its economy and build strategic relationships with European nations. Preti also underlined the mutual benefits of the agreement, expressing optimism about its role in deepening economic ties and encouraging cultural and technological exchange.
