Iraq Launches National Taxi in Baghdad

The Iraqi Ministry of Transport has introduced the National Taxi project in Baghdad. It aims to modernize and streamline taxi services through an electronic app.

The key features of the project are to integrate all Baghdad taxis into a single electronic platform, to simplify transportation requests for citizens. The initiative wants to curb the use of private vehicles as taxis, as this has caused chaos in the transport sector. Finally, the project prioritises safety, comfort and efficiency, allowing for better monitoring of the taxi services across Baghdad.

The National Taxi project represents a major step in reorganising Baghdad’s transport sector and improving public services. It aims to provide a reliable, safe, and efficient transportation environment for users.

The Ministry of Transport also plans to gradually expand the initiative to other cities across Iraq.

Iraq demonstrates its commitment to modernising its transport sector and addressing long-standing issues in urban mobility.
