In a gesture of solidarity and support, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani has directed the provision of free flights to Beirut for Iraqi guests currently in Lebanon, as well as for Lebanese citizens wishing to return to their homeland.
The directive, issued on Tuesday, aligns with the government’s broader efforts to foster goodwill and deepen regional cooperation. The Prime Minister emphasised the importance of ensuring safe and dignified travel for all passengers, reflecting Iraq’s values of hospitality and mutual support with neighbouring nations.
Flights under this programme will be facilitated by Iraqi Airways, the country’s national carrier, which has been instructed to prioritise the implementation of this directive. Iraqi Airways has reassured passengers of seamless coordination to ensure a smooth and efficient travel experience.
This initiative comes amid broader discussions between Iraq and Lebanon to strengthen bilateral relations and explore opportunities for collaboration in various fields. The move is also seen as a reflection of Iraq’s growing role in promoting regional stability and providing humanitarian assistance where needed.
Further details on the schedule and booking process for these flights are expected to be announced by Iraqi Airways in the coming days.
