Iraq’s National Team emerged triumphant in their final AFC qualifier match against Vietnam, securing a dominant 3-1 victory and a perfect record in the second round. The home crowd in Basra erupted as Iraq displayed their power on the pitch.
Despite missing a penalty kick, Iraq kept persevering. Hussein Ali and Ali Jasim put on a long-range clinic, firing rockets past the Vietnamese keeper to establish a commanding lead. Vietnam fought valiantly, but only Pham Tuan Hai’s impressive volley could find the back of the net.
In added time, Aymen Hussein secured a critical goal, finalising a 3-1 victory. This win advances Iraq to the next round of World Cup qualifiers, positioning them well in their quest for a World Cup spot.
Fans celebrated the triumph, hopeful that this momentum will carry Iraq through the remaining qualifiers.
