Iraq to Host 34th Arab Summit in May 2025

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Fuad Hussein, chaired the twelfth preparatory meeting for the upcoming Arab Summit in Baghdad.

During the meeting, Mr. Fuad Hussein announced that May 17th, 2025, would be the official date for the summit, following his recent discussions in Cairo. The committee reviewed the latest developments and progress on logistical, technical, and organizational preparations for the event. This included detailed plans for ceremonial procedures, security arrangements, and media coordination to ensure the summit’s success.

Mr. Fuad Hussein underscored the importance of the summit for Iraq, stating that the country is focused on creating an environment that will showcase Iraq’s positive image while strengthening joint Arab cooperation. He emphasised the need for seamless coordination between the concerned parties to deliver the event with professionalism and efficiency.

The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Dr. Al-Ghazi, assured that efforts are ongoing to address any challenges in the preparation phase. He also highlighted the constant work of the specialised committees dedicated to achieving the summit’s goals and ensuring its success.

With the preparations in full swing, Iraq is determined to host a summit that reflects its commitment to regional unity and cooperation.
