The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Ms. Janet Alberda, to discuss enhancing scientific and academic cooperation between Iraqi and Dutch universities.
During the meeting, Dr. Al-Aboudi highlighted the Ministry’s strategic vision of internationalising academic standards and fostering partnerships with global institutions. He mentioned the Ministry’s achievements, including the successful launch of the Study in Iraq programme, which has attracted over 3,000 international students across various academic disciplines.
Ambassador Alberda emphasised the Netherlands’ commitment to strengthening ties with Iraqi universities through collaboration on scientific research, signing memoranda of understanding, and creating a conducive environment for joint academic initiatives. She extended an official invitation to Dr. Al-Aboudi to visit the Netherlands and its universities, aiming to formalise and expand academic relations between the two nations.
The meeting reflects Iraq’s ongoing efforts to build robust academic networks and elevate its higher education system on the global stage.
