Iraqi Delegation Participates in Asian Parliamentary Assembly

The Foreign Relations Committee of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, led by MP Jabbar Al-Kanani and joined by MPs Haider Al-Salami and Vian Sabry, participated in the 15th Executive Council meetings of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA), alongside representatives from 30 Asian nations.

The discussions covered key economic, political, and social issues affecting the region, as well as draft resolutions concerning Asian parliaments. The meeting, chaired by Azerbaijan’s representative and APA President, also featured a report from the Secretary-General on the Assembly’s activities over the past year, followed by the nomination of a new APA President.

As a gesture of diplomatic goodwill, the Iraqi delegation presented a symbolic gift to Mr. Rizvan Nabiyev, the representative of the APA President from Azerbaijan, highlighting Iraq’s commitment to strengthening parliamentary cooperation across Asia.
