The Iraqi-Korean Critical Care Hospital at the Medical City is continuing to deliver essential medical and healthcare services to patients, following the directives of the Minister of Health, Dr. Saleh Al-Hasnawi. Since its operational launch on December 1, 2024, the hospital has treated 250 critical cases, adhering to a structured mechanism developed by specialised scientific committees.
The facility was officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani on November 16, 2024, and features 74 critical care beds. Designed to handle critical and internal cases, the hospital spans four floors and includes four state-of-the-art operating rooms, as well as a dedicated catheterisation unit for brain, heart, and limb procedures.
Equipped with cutting-edge medical technology, the hospital boasts a fully integrated laboratory with the latest diagnostic tools, a pharmacy stocked with essential medications and medical supplies, and an advanced electronic communication system that enables patients to connect with their families remotely. Additionally, the hospital features central sterilisation units and a comprehensive climate control system, alongside a sophisticated electronic fire suppression mechanism to ensure patient safety.
Emergency surgeries, including those for fractures, general surgery, and gynecological procedures, have been successfully performed, allowing for rapid medical interventions that have saved numerous lives. The continued operation of the Iraqi-Korean Critical Care Hospital marks a significant step in Iraq’s healthcare advancement, ensuring high-quality treatment for patients in critical conditions.
