Speaker of the Iraqi House of Representatives, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, arrived on Saturday at the headquarters of the League of Arab States to participate in the consultative meeting of Arab parliamentary leaders. His visit comes as part of Iraq’s engagement in the Seventh Conference of Speakers of Arab Councils and Parliaments, held in Cairo.
Dr. Al-Mashhadani was received by the Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Mr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Yamahi, ahead of the meeting. The consultative sessions, which began earlier in the day, bring together Arab parliamentary leaders to discuss pressing regional issues, with a particular focus on the Palestinian cause.
During his arrival, Al-Mashhadani reaffirmed Iraq’s commitment to coordinating its stance with fellow Arab nations, particularly in promoting a unified Arab discourse on regional matters.
It is expected that Dr. Al-Mashhadani will deliver a key speech during the conference, addressing Iraq’s perspective on the ongoing challenges facing the region and the importance of Arab solidarity.
The Seventh Conference of Speakers of Arab Councils and Parliaments serves as a vital platform for Arab parliamentary leaders to strengthen cooperation, exchange views, and develop joint strategies on legislative and political issues affecting the Arab world.
