Beyond trade, the two countries collaborate extensively in infrastructure and energy, particularly through projects under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Chinese investments in Iraq’s transportation, housing, and industrial sectors have significantly contributed to the country’s economic development and reconstruction efforts.

A spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy emphasised that both nations are committed to expanding cooperation, aiming to further increase investments and trade exchange to support their shared economic interests.
