The Ministry of Oil provided a detailed clarification on Monday regarding the social benefit projects implemented in areas surrounding oil fields, emphasising their focus on three key sectors.
The ministry explained that these social benefit initiatives comprise service projects aimed at enhancing the infrastructure of communities near oil fields operated by foreign companies under licensing rounds and other agreements.
The ministry further noted that project selection is carried out in coordination with local governments and relevant sectoral authorities. These initiatives undergo thorough evaluation by joint committees comprising representatives from the ministry and the respective foreign companies.
Additionally, the ministry highlighted the extensive range of services provided through these projects, spanning the education, health, and public services sectors. These include road paving and tiling, the construction and rehabilitation of schools, clinics, and hospitals, as well as the provision of essential furniture, medical equipment, and other necessary resources.
