Iraq’s Railways and Riyadh Embassy Collaborate on Transport Growth

The Director General of Railways, Eng. Jabbar Aliwi Lahees, welcomed the Deputy Ambassador of Iraq in Riyadh, Counselor Sadad Faeq Muhi, at the company’s headquarters on Tuesday. The meeting focused on the strategic role of railways in Iraq’s transportation sector and future plans to enhance connectivity.

Eng. Lahees highlighted the long history of Iraqi Railways and its significance as a vital economic artery. He provided an overview of the company’s current operations and key projects aimed at modernising the railway network. These projects include new lines and operational upgrades designed to improve transportation services across the country.

Counselor Muhi commended the Ministry of Transport for its dedication to advancing the transportation sector, particularly in the field of railways. She emphasised the importance of continued efforts to improve infrastructure, which plays a crucial role in Iraq’s economic development.

The meeting emphasised a joint commitment to improving Iraq’s transportation infrastructure, positioning railways as a key element in advancing the nation’s economic growth and connectivity.
