Jamila Overpass Opens as Part of Baghdad’s Traffic Relief Plan

The Ministry of Construction, Housing, Municipalities, and Public Works has announced the opening of the Jamila overpass, which extends along the Army Canal, for vehicle traffic.

According to a statement reported by the Iraq International News Agency, the overpass is now operational, facilitating traffic from the Jamila area. This overpass is a significant component of a larger project designed to connect the Jamila area with Jihad Street and Bab Al-Muadham. It is part of the first package of initiatives aimed at alleviating traffic congestion in Baghdad.

The ministry emphasised that the opening of this overpass marks a critical step in improving the city’s infrastructure and easing vehicular movement across key areas, ultimately enhancing the daily commute for residents and contributing to the overall urban development of the capital.
