Professor Dr. Ahmed Fakak Al-Badrani, Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities, presided over the sixth session of the ministry’s Advisory Board, with the participation of deputy ministers and general directors from various departments.
During the session, Al-Badrani emphasised the importance of department heads, section managers, and heads of technical, administrative, and investigative committees in fully carrying out their responsibilities across the ministry’s sectors. He also called on the ministerial committee, tasked with implementing the government programme, to be updated with detailed reports on recent activities and events organised by the ministry’s departments.
The meeting further addressed the employment of Iraqi labour in the ministry, focusing on individuals with skills in technical, cultural, archaeological, and tourism-related fields. The draft of the ministry’s new law, prepared by the ministerial committee, was also reviewed, with members proposing the creation of an Assistant General Director role for the General Authority of Antiquities and Heritage, which will be included in the new legislation. While the final vote on the draft law was postponed to the next session, the board approved the creation of a new department for Turkmen culture, which will report directly to the minister’s office.
