Ministry of Oil Launches ISO 37001 Anti-Bribery Initiative

In response to the directives of the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Mr. Hayan Abdul-Ghani Al-Sawad, the Ministerial Team for Qualifying and Implementing the International Quality Standard (ISO 37001) for Anti-Bribery Requirements held its inaugural meeting on Wednesday. Led by Mr. Diaa Jabbar, Director of the Quality Department at the Ministry of Oil, the meeting aimed to align the ministry’s operations with international quality standards and position it as a leader among government institutions.

During the meeting, participants reviewed various topics related to the ISO 37001 standard and proposed actionable mechanisms and quick solutions to facilitate its implementation. Jabbar emphasised the Ministry of Oil’s commitment to pioneering the application of this international standard, supported by the dedicated efforts of the Quality and Central Performance Evaluation Department.

An ambitious work plan was established, outlining specific timelines and identifying the necessary support for the ministerial team to fulfil its mandate. Attendees expressed their readiness to adhere to the leadership’s directives and to put in exceptional efforts to achieve the team’s objectives, particularly regarding training through the ministry’s Training and Development Department. The Central Oil Company hosted the meeting, which included representatives from the company’s senior management and team members from various ministry formations.
