Ministry of Planning Partners with TÜV Austria to Ensure Quality of Imports

To uphold the quality and safety of imported products, the Ministry of Planning has authorised the Austrian company TÜV Austria to issue certificates of conformity in the country of origin.

A contract was signed between TÜV Austria and the Ministry of Planning, granting TÜV Austria the license to conduct inspections and verifications necessary to issue certificates of conformity for goods exported to Iraq. Dr. Hussein Ali Dawood, Chairman of the Central Agency for Standardization and Quality Control, signed the contract on behalf of the Ministry, while Mr. Firas Moayad Hassan, the authorised manager for TÜV Austria in Iraq, represented the Austrian company.

Dr. Hussein Ali Dawood emphasised that this partnership will enhance economic and trade relations between Austria and Iraq. He also urged TÜV Austria to promptly carry out the obligations outlined in the contract to “ensure the necessary procedures for the quality of goods and services provided.”

The Austrian Ambassador to Iraq highlighted that this partnership is a significant contribution to Iraq’s recovery, supporting the Iraqi market by providing quality goods.
