The Iraqi Ministry of Transportation has officially inaugurated the first modern electronic bus shelter for public transportation in Baghdad, marking a significant advancement in the capital’s public transport services. This initiative is part of a comprehensive project that will see the establishment of twenty four advanced bus shelters strategically located throughout the city.
Designed to address the challenging climatic conditions of Iraq, these new shelters feature modern designs equipped with thermal insulation and air conditioning, ensuring comfort for users during the scorching summer months and the cold winter season. The project aims to enhance the overall public transport experience, providing a safe and comfortable waiting environment for commuters.
In addition to improving passenger comfort, the new shelters also incorporate modern advertising spaces for commercial businesses. This not only contributes to the aesthetic appeal of the city but also supports local economic growth, reflecting the ongoing development of Baghdad’s infrastructure.
This initiative represents the Ministry’s commitment to modernising public transport and enhancing the quality of life for residents of Baghdad. By providing a more comfortable and efficient transit experience, the Ministry of Transportation aims to encourage greater use of public transport and contribute to a more sustainable urban environment.
