National Railways Trains to Transport Fans for World Cup Qualifier

The Iraqi Railways Company is set to operate modern trains to transport sports fans from Baghdad to Basra Governorate tomorrow, Wednesday, 9th of October, in support of Iraq’s national football team as they face Palestine in a highly anticipated World Cup qualifying match.

Engineer Jabbar Aliwi Al-Jubouri, General Manager of the Iraqi Railways Company, announced that three trains have been scheduled to ensure smooth transportation for fans. The first train will depart at 7:00 p.m., followed by the second at 8:00 p.m. A third train will remain on standby, ready to be deployed if needed.

This initiative follows the directives of the Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi, who instructed the preparation of trains to facilitate fan attendance. Trains will also be available for the return journey after the match, with the first departure from Basra set for 1:00 a.m. on Friday.

Excitement is running high as Iraq’s national team prepares for this crucial World Cup qualifier, with fans eager to see their side perform on home soil, but also proud to be hosting their Palestinian counterpart.
