New Baghdad-Sharjah Flights by Iraqi Airways

In a significant move to expand its regional reach and enhance connectivity, Iraqi Airways has announced Sharjah as its latest destination. The inaugural direct flight from Baghdad International Airport to Sharjah International Airport took off today, marking a new chapter in the Green Bird’s operational strategy. Flights on this route will operate three times a week, specifically on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

The Director General of Iraqi Airways, Eng. Manaf Abdul-Moneim Ajil, emphasised that this development follows the directives of the Minister of Transport, Mr. Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi. The initiative is designed to meet the growing demand for convenient and comfortable travel options, catering to both leisure and business travellers.

A statement from the Ministry of Transport highlighted the strategic significance of this new route, stating that it will bolster ties between Iraq and the United Arab Emirates. Beyond connecting the two nations, the Sharjah route enriches Iraqi Airways’ network, providing passengers with greater flexibility and additional travel options.
