As part of its ongoing digital transformation agenda for state institutions, the Ministry of Planning held an introductory workshop today to present the unified electronic platform for advertisements and tenders. The session, attended by Dr. Hana Ismail Ibrahim, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Administrative Affairs, and Eng. Thamer Awad, Director General of the General Government Contracts Department, aimed to familiarise stakeholders with the platform’s features and benefits.
Mr. Ghaith Raad Mahmoud from the Government Contracts Department led the presentation, highlighting the platform’s capabilities. He explained that the platform, previously launched and activated, is designed to manage tenders, contracts, and government procurements efficiently. Applicable across ministries, agencies, and governorates, this tool enables government bodies to streamline their contracting processes, including the publication of tender advertisements, investment opportunities, and electronic document sales. The system also supports updates such as extensions, re-advertisements, cancellations, and the announcement of contract winners.
Further, Mr. Mahmoud noted that the platform empowers companies, contractors, and consultants by providing them with the opportunity to register their information electronically. This feature allows these entities to participate in government projects through direct invitations and procurement processes, enhancing transparency and enabling government agencies to select the most suitable candidates based on expertise and sector-specific qualifications.
The workshop was attended by department managers and members from relevant sections within the ministry. This initiative reflects the Ministry of Planning’s commitment to advancing digital solutions that promote efficiency, transparency, and better coordination in government procurement and contracting.
