Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani has inaugurated three schools in Baghdad and Maysan, marking the start of a broader initiative to open 25 “Farah Model Schools for Orphans” across Iraq. These schools, part of a national project, aim to provide orphans with comprehensive care and quality education, reflecting the government’s commitment to supporting vulnerable children.
Prime Minister Al-Sudani emphasized the importance of these schools in offering not only education but also psychological support, given the difficult circumstances many of the students have faced. He stressed the presence of counselors and the coordination with the Social Protection Department to ensure that all students receive financial aid. The Prime Minister highlighted collaboration with UNICEF to implement psychological support programs, which are crucial for the well-being of orphaned students.
In addition to financial assistance, Farah Schools will provide students with school uniforms, transportation, meals, and other essentials. The initiative underscores the government’s dedication to fostering social solidarity and supporting orphaned children by creating a nurturing environment that meets both their educational and emotional needs.
Prime Minister Al-Sudani commended religious and social institutions for their role in supporting orphans and encouraged continued efforts to promote social welfare through similar projects.
