Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani inaugurated the National ID Intermediate Station Service via video conference from the Emergency Response Headquarters at the Ministry of Interior. Introduced at the National Pension Authority and the Criminal Evidence Directorate, this initiative is a key step in Iraq’s digital transformation, aiming to eliminate the traditional document verification process and streamline citizen services. The new system enables instant authentication of official documents within seconds, significantly reducing bureaucratic hurdles and easing the burden on citizens. The first phase will later expand to cover all Iraqi government institutions, creating a more efficient and transparent administrative framework.
Alongside the Intermediate Station, Prime Minister Al-Sudani also launched ‘Iraq Eye,’ a cutting-edge digital verification application connected to the 911 Rapid Response Directorate. This app enhances public safety and accessibility by offering emergency services and AI-powered verification tools. Available in Arabic, Kurdish, and English, it allows citizens to contact emergency services, report crimes and incidents, submit complaints, and access traffic services such as checking and paying fines, applying for a driver’s licence, updating residency cards, and obtaining firearm permits. This marks another major step in Iraq’s broader digital transformation strategy, which the Prime Minister has strongly championed.
By launching the Intermediate Station and Iraq Eye, the government is taking concrete steps towards modernising governance, reducing administrative obstacles, and improving public service efficiency for all citizens.
