New Villages in Kirkuk Included in Social Fund for Development Projects

The Ministry of Planning announced on Monday the inclusion of new villages in Kirkuk Governorate as part of the Social Fund for Development (SFD) projects, reinforcing efforts to bridge development gaps across Iraq.

During a recent visit to Kirkuk by a delegation from the Fund, Muhammad Aydin, Director of the Fund’s Branch and Director of Planning for the Governorate, confirmed the addition of Al-Halwa village to the SFD projects. Several essential service projects will be financed in the village, reflecting the Ministry’s commitment to achieving equitable development across all governorates based on identified planning studies.

The delegation also inspected the ongoing construction of a 6-classroom school in Sadr Al-Nahr, Hawija district. Engineer Idris Abdullah Al-Jubouri, overseeing the project, announced that the school is nearing completion, with a 95% progress rate. The project is expected to be fully delivered at the beginning of next year.

The school, built on a 2,500-square-metre plot, includes 6 classrooms, 4 administrative offices, health facilities, a 600-square-metre student assembly yard, and a secure external fence. The development aims to provide a conducive educational environment, addressing local infrastructure needs and enhancing opportunities for young learners.
