Oman Strengthens its Ties with Iraq

Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed S. Al-Sudani welcomed the Omani Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technology, Mr. Saeed bin Hamoud Al-Mawali today.

Amongst various discussion topics, the Prime Minister pointed to the advancements Iraq has witnessed in development and investment, particularly in the communications sector. 

He brought into focus that there lie many commonalities between Iraq and the Sultunate of Oman, which offer valuable opportunities to improve economic and investment ties between the two countries.

Mr Al-Malawi commended the significant progress made by Iraq, across a range of sectors and reviewed the outcomes of his discussions in Baghdad. According to him, both the private and public sectors in Oman are ready to cooperate with Iraq in areas such as the digital economy and e-governance. Al-Malawi also expressed Oman’s willingness to invest in Iraq’s ports and airports, through projects related to airport development.
