Preventive Education As A Key Step Against Corruption

The Integrity Commission has highlighted the role of preventive education as a key tool in promoting transparency and tackling corruption. In collaboration with the Ministry of Finance’s Media and Government Communication Department and the Financial and Accounting Training Centre, an educational workshop was recently conducted for ministry staff. This initiative forms part of a broader strategy to foster integrity within government institutions.

The workshop, led by Dr. Hussein Qasim Amslam from the Integrity Commission’s Education and Public Relations Department, emphasised the significance of transparency, aiming to inform both employees and the wider public of its vital role in combating corrupt practices. Discussions covered various proposals from participants and highlighted the necessity of supporting integrity-driven initiatives through a preventive approach, ensuring that both laws and employee interactions uphold clear standards.

Organised in response to directives from the Prime Minister’s Office, these workshops reflect the government’s commitment to enhancing integrity and transparency across ministries. The educational programme aspires to reach a wide audience of employees and citizens, reinforcing their understanding of integrity principles and the essential role they play in a transparent and corruption-free administration.
