The Ministry of Finance, in collaboration with the Integrity Commission and the Financial and Accounting Training Center, recently hosted an educational seminar aimed at promoting a culture of integrity, transparency, and honesty within Iraq’s public sector. The seminar, titled The Role of Transparency in Combating and Preventing Corruption, focused on the legal frameworks and strategies used to address corruption in Iraq, specifically through the Integrity and Illicit Gains Commission Law No. 30 of 2011.
A key highlight of the seminar was the focus on digital transformation as a critical tool in fighting corruption. Dr. Subaih explained how technological advancements, particularly e-governance, are vital for ensuring transparency and fairness in state institutions. The shift towards digital systems helps minimize corruption risks by increasing accountability and reducing human errors in administrative processes.
This initiative demonstrates the Ministry of Finance’s commitment to fostering a more transparent government and promoting a culture of honesty and integrity, crucial for Iraq’s ongoing efforts to combat corruption and improve public trust.
