A high-level delegation from Qatar’s Ministry of Culture has arrived in Baghdad to strengthen cultural ties between Iraq and Qatar, marking a significant step in the ongoing cultural cooperation between the two nations. This visit, part of a series of agreements outlined in joint cultural cooperation protocols, highlights both countries’ commitment to fostering a sustainable cultural partnership.
The delegation, composed of key cultural leaders and officials from Qatar’s ministries of culture, arts, public relations, communication, and international cultural cooperation, embarked on a tour to explore Iraq’s rich cultural heritage. Their visit included stops at the Iraqi National Museum, the halls of art exhibitions, and the Department of Musical Arts’ theatres. The delegation was given the opportunity to witness firsthand the depth and creativity of Iraqi art, along with the treasures of ancient Iraqi civilisation.
Expressing admiration for Iraq’s cultural richness, the Qatari delegation conveyed their respect for the nation’s artistic legacy and its cultural contributions. This visit serves as a reflection of the long-standing relationship between the two countries, focused on building partnerships and executing future cultural projects. These initiatives aim to promote mutual understanding and showcase the shared cultural, social, and humanitarian values of Iraq and Qatar to the public.
The delegation’s tour was accompanied by Iraqi cultural leaders, including Professor Dr. Alaa Abu Al-Hassan Ismail, Director General of the Department of Cultural Relations at Iraq’s Ministry of Culture, and Mr. Omar Awda Al-Lahibi, Director of the Minister’s Office, alongside other key staff from the Ministry.
