Under the guidance of Minister of Migration and Displacement Ms. Evan Faeq Jabro, the Ministry of Migration has launched 220 income-generating projects aimed at supporting returnees in the districts of Sinjar and Hamdaniya, Nineveh Governorate. The initiative, implemented by field teams from the Ministry’s Nineveh branch, is designed to help men and women breadwinners re-establish stable lives in their hometowns after returning from displacement.
The projects, carefully tailored to suit local needs, span various trades including men’s and women’s hairdressing salons, women’s tailoring, construction carpentry, oil change services, food production, and photocopying services. These income-generating resources will provide vital employment opportunities and facilitate economic recovery, allowing returnees to achieve financial independence and rebuild their communities.
This initiative underscores the Ministry’s commitment to fostering sustainable livelihoods, ensuring that returnees can secure a decent living, and promoting long-term stability in Sinjar and Hamdaniya. The project represents a step forward in Iraq’s efforts to support displaced individuals as they work towards recovery and self-sufficiency.
