Spain Seeks Reliable Partnership for Iraq’s Future

The Spanish Ambassador to Baghdad, Ms. Alicia Rico Perez del Pulgar, praised Iraq’s significant reconstruction and development efforts, expressing Spain’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations. During the 13th session of the Iraqi-Spanish Joint Committee, she emphasised the importance of collaboration between the two nations to support Iraq’s rebuilding process.

Alicia Varela, Director General of International Trade and Investment in Spain, thanked the Iraqi government and the Minister of Transport for facilitating the committee’s meetings, highlighting Spain’s eagerness to contribute to Iraq’s economic growth. She reaffirmed Spain’s dedication to being a reliable partner in supporting Iraq’s bright future.

The Spanish delegation extended an invitation to the Iraqi Prime Minister and the Minister of Transport to visit Madrid, aiming to further enhance cooperation between the two countries. This gesture reflects Spain’s desire to strengthen ties and explore new avenues for joint projects.

The Spanish side of the committee expressed optimism about expanding Spanish companies’ activities in Iraq’s investment sector and improving collaboration with the Iraqi private sector. They see Iraq as a vital partner for future growth and look forward to increased mutual opportunities.
