The Al-Abbas Holy Shrine

Karbala – (iina) The Al-Abbas Shrine is located in Karbala where Muslims visit the shrine mostly during Muharram to pray to Hazrat Abbas, who was the son of Ali ibn Abi Talib. Visitors gather to pray and show respect to their Imam.

The shrine went through a few renovations in order to create more space for all the visitors. Its golden domes illuminate the city of Karbala throughout the whole day. The walls of the shrine are covered in Islamic calligraphy. The shrine is in the middle of the old city of Karbala which also enlightens the city.
