Dr Ali Moayyed, the head of the Communications and Media Commission (CMC) met in the presence of Mr. Hisham Al-Rikabi, a member of the Board of Commissioners at the Commission, and Dr. Farshad Mehdi Pour, the Iranian Deputy Minister of Culture for Media and Communications Affairs, along with a delegation representing prominent media outlets in Iran.
The meeting focused on enhancing media cooperation and generating journalistic content aimed at portraying an accurate depiction of both nations. Additionally, they discussed modernising and streamlining operations through contemporary digital platforms to align with advancements in communication and audience preferences.
The media coverage during the Arbaeen visit was also addressed as the visiting Iranian delegation commended previous Iraqi organisational efforts and the success of media coverage in the past year. They proposed leveraging Iranian media organisation expertise for future holy visits.
Another aspect of the meeting allowed for the parties to explore strategies for mutual collaboration and efforts to counter misinformation. They suggested establishing joint committees to combat rumours and false content. The Iranian delegation put forward the possibility of organising training programs in the Islamic Republic of Iran, engaging specialised universities and training institutes focused on media and communications.
