Taif Sami Muhammad, Iraq’s Minister of Finance, met with Akira Endo, the newly appointed Japanese Ambassador to Iraq on the 30th of January. The meeting, which took place at the Ministry’s headquarters, focused on strengthening economic and financial cooperation between the two countries.
Discussions highlighted the importance of applying Japanese expertise to support development and investment projects in Iraq. Both sides explored ways to enhance financial and commercial ties between Baghdad and Tokyo, reinforcing mechanisms for sustainable economic collaboration.
Minister Sami reiterated Iraq’s commitment to strengthening economic relations with Japan, commending the contributions of Japanese companies to Iraq’s development projects. In response, Ambassador Endo affirmed that Japan is ready to continue supporting Iraq across various sectors, to achieve sustainable growth.
This meeting reflects ongoing efforts to maintain cooperation in the financial and investment sectors, aiming to contribute to Iraq’s economic progress and long-term stability.
