Transforming Shopping in Iraq

150 central markets are due to be established across Iraq, by the Iraqi Ministry of Trade, as part of the Cooperation Hypermarket launch.

The initiative aims, not only to provide support to state employees, families of martyrs and those under social care, but also to balance local markets and limit price increases.

The markets feature extensive spaces, with some locations, like the “Shahab Market” in the Bayaa area, spanning up to 30,000 square meters. They offer free parking and a wide range of goods.

Companies such as ‘Qi Card’ have signed agreements to provide instalment sales services for those who are retired or receiving social welfare for lower costs.

The project is expected to create over 3,000 direct jobs and 5,000 indirect job opportunities, supporting the local economy across Iraq. The Karbala branch is completed and expected to open in the coming days.

The Cooperation Hypermarket has announced the opening of new branches in various Baghdad locations, including Jadriya, Bayaa and Hurri.
